My whole life, I’ve searched for God. Ive always taken solace in being spiritual and not religious.spirituality to me means believing in the concept that there is something beyond us and within us that beckons us to live life at a deeper level. The idea that there was a man in the sky watching over us never really appealed to me. However, I attended countless bible schools and southern Baptist churches growing up and when they said raise your hand if you accept Jesus Christ into your heart, I raised my hand every time. For me I identify with my Quaker roots and I feel that everyone has direct access to God. I truly believe as George Fox, a famous Quaker did, that there is that of God within . It’s how we experience This realization that differs. For instance, I could be at the grocery store and someone says to me “your mom loves you “ ,not knowing I had just had a fight with her. Or a song comes on the radio that perfectly sums up how you’re feeling. sometimes it’s just being outside in nature and feeling a strong connection to the world around you. Wherever and however we experience God, the divine, or spirit may differ but I think the world may grow and change if we act on those experiences . So, have that conversation, watch that movie, listen to that song. Most importantly, give up your feelings and questions to the universe and see what comes back. There are signs everywhere and those signs are glimpses of the divine.
